Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Our clinic provides emergency treatment to any pet that is experiencing life threatening difficulites. Due to this policy, occasionally our scheduled patients may be inconvenienced. Should this occur during your visit, we wish to express our sincere appreciation for your patience and understanding.

Safety Policy

For your safety, the safety of your pet and that of others, all dogs must be on a short leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

Please note that we have adopted a new No-Show Policy for all surgical and medical appointments. We hope that this policy will provide more fair opportunity for all clients to have their pets receive veterinary care when needed and shorter wait-times for appointments.  This policy will also enable us to use our veterinarians’ time more efficiently to treat sick patients.

A simple phone call before your scheduled appointment is all that is required. This will allow us to offer that spot to a pet in need. If you do not show up for your appointment and fail to let us know 24 hours in advance, a no-show fee of $50 will be applied to your account, per pet, to be paid before your next visit.

Payment Policy

Payment is due when services are rendered. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Interac and cash.

Veterinarian Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR)

Veterinarian Client-Patient Relationship is the basis of our business. It is the interaction between the clients, patients and veterinarian regarding the need for medical treatment. A VCPR is required by law for dispensing prescription medications. It is considered unethical and illegal to prescribe or dispense medications without a proper relationship. In order to comply with these laws and provide the best quality medicine to your pet, H7VH requires clients who wish to purchase prescription products including parasite prevention, shampoos and conditioners from our clinic to have an annual VCPR consultation with one of our veterinarians. Please call the clinic with any questions regarding this policy or to make an appointment –705-778-2535.

Medically Unnecessary Veterinary Surgery (“Cosmetic Surgery”)

We believe it is unethical to perform surgery on an animal that we feel is not required or in the animal’s best medical interest. Ear cropping, tail docking, dewclaw removal, and declawing will not occur at H7VH unless deemed medically necessary for the health and well-being of the pet.

We also believe it is unethical to surgically repair genetic defects in animals intended to be used for breeding, showing, and racing or in field trials. Owners should be encouraged to neuter/spay these animals to prevent passing on unwanted genetic diseases and medical problems.
