Office Manager 

Highway 7 Veterinary Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic full time Office Manager to join our amazing team.

Highway 7 Veterinary Hospital is a growing small animal practice committed to providing the best possible medical, surgical, and preventative care. The entire team here is committed to enriching the lives of pets through their compassionate care, education and relationships with clients.

We are looking for a progressive individual who will help lead out team through the next phase in our growth with innovation, compassion, and humour.  This position is ideally suited for a Veterinary Technician who is hoping to advance their career and hone their leadership skills. The Office Manager will work in cooperation with the Practice Owner to provide leadership and oversight to the whole veterinary team.

Job Duties

  • Provide on-site leadership and oversight to the veterinary team to maximize the business performance
  • Maintain the level of patient care and customer service the community has grown to expect
  • Ensure smooth communication with clients and with the veterinary team
  • Work in cooperation with the practice owner to resolve client concerns.
  • Understand and help achieve financial benchmarks
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure adequate supply levels are maintained in accordance with practice caseload.
  • Place pharmaceutical and supply orders, help source surgical supplies and equipment – using a variety of vendors
  • Work with practice owner to establish marketing initiatives including oversight of website and social media presence.
  • Collaborate with the practice owner to recruit, mentor and retain a team with an emphasis on accountability, integrity, teamwork and collegiality.
  • Maintain hospital compliance with CVO standards
  • Ensure fee schedules are current, work with the practice owner to review fee schedule annually and adjust as required.
  • Ensure that all voluntary and mandatory controls, standards, requirements, rules and regulations are followed, and any training needed is conducted (Employment standards, CVO, WHMIS, OHS, x-ray, etc)


  • Veterinary Technician diploma from an accredited college
  • Registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians
  • 1 to 2 yrs clinical experience

Tired if working weekends? Highway 7 Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time or part-time or locum veterinarian to join our growing practice. Maintain an ideal work life balance – closed Saturday and Sunday, after-hour emergencies are handled at a local emergency clinic. Looking for a change from the big city? Why not move to Village of Havelock – located in the Kawarthas. Our privately owned practice is a paper-lite practice utilizing Avimark, in-house lab testing, CR digital radiology, dental radiology and excellent support staff. Animal Care Assistant 

Highway 7 Veterinary Hospital looking for a dependable and confident Animal Care Assistant to join our team. This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to assist with various tasks and treatments, create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents, and general housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas.

We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn, exceptional client service skills, compassion and nurturing attitude, ability to remain calm in stressful situations, ability to adapt in changing situations, efficient in carrying out assignments independently and takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day.
